ARTISTS
MERT ACAR
He was born in 1989
He is a contemporary artist from Turkey. His artistic practice revolves around lens-based media and installation art. He directs his focus towards the architectural and landscape elements found within transitional spaces, where the border between space and place become hazy. He graduated with a BFA in Graphics from Hacettepe University in 2012. During his BFA, he studied at Saint-Luc Liège in Belgium as an exchange student for one semester. He then completed his MFA in the Painting Department at Gazi University in 2017 and his DFA at
the same institution in 2023. He is based in Ankara and works as a lecturer. He's represented by Vision Art Platform in Istanbul.
JACQUELINE RODITI
She was born in Istanbul in 1985.
She graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, Department of Photography and Video in 2010. In her recent works, Roditi fictionally photographs her dreams as she remembers them and presents a dream series to the audience. While her photographs embody her dreams, her dreams also isolate her from this world. Inspired by Andre Kertesz and the photographs of the 50s in her old black-and-white photographs, Roditi is a timeless artist. She creates her own story by bringing together and editing her melancholy frames. Outside of ordinary time, the artist's photographs take us on walks where familiar hours flow longer. Timeless desert, sky, lake, and road views are accompanied by intertwined bodies and moments full of compassion, living in the time of everyday life. While loneliness is present in landscapes, it disappears in sleep. She’s represented by Vision Art Platform in Istanbul.
