Mehmet Kemal İçden was born on October 25, 1989, in Ankara. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2011 at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture. In 2013, he began working in the same department as a research assistant. He completed his master’s degree in 2014–2015, followed by the Proficiency in Art (equivalent to a doctoral program) between 2015–2020. He currently works as an Assistant Professor at Harran University, Faculty of Fine Arts.

İçden works not only with traditional sculptural materials such as stone and metal but also with modern/hybrid materials like plaster and polyester, allowing him to conduct technical and aesthetic investigations into form, volume, surface, and casting techniques. His practice is known to focus on themes such as ‘anthropomorphic objects’ and ‘form studies’. He also completed a master’s thesis on ‘self-portraiture in contemporary art’, which indicates his theoretical engagement with concepts such as the figure, identity, and the relationship between the individual and the object.
